Demolition of Konterdam bridge in Ostend

In the night of Friday 5 February to Saturday 6 February the Konterdam bridge was demolished in Ostend. For the demolition of the bridge, the A10 was closed from 8 p.m. Friday night until 4:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

The 65+ year old bridge was demolished in barely two hours and then all the rubble and crushing sand, amounting to about 1000T, was transported to our depot in Zedelgem.

An impressive amount of equipment was used to complete the demolition.

Once again, a clever collaboration between the various departments!
