Important part of the trumpet connection completed and opened in Kortrijk

On October 4, the so-called trumpet bridge, which connects the A19 from Ypres with one of the two sections of the R8 (Ring around Kortrijk), was opened in Kortrijk. Two years after the start, the first phase of the trumpet connection was completed after hard work.

The new connection will ensure a safe and smooth traffic flow between the R8 and the A19, which should put an end to traffic jams and dangerous traffic situations.

Thanks to the cooperation with the various partners, everything is going according to schedule and in the meantime phase 2 has already started. The entire work will be fully completed by the end of 2024.
