Inauguration of industrial practice site at Campus Vesta

In Ranst on Wednesday 15 June, Campus Vesta's new practice site for fighting complex industrial fires in Belgium was officially inaugurated by Minister of the Interior Annelies Verlinden, Governor Cathy Berx and Deputy Jan De Haes.

The minister opened the simulated petrochemical plant by lighting the fire in the pipe trenches from a safe distance by remote control.

The site is the first practice site for fighting complex industrial fires in our country and is thus unique to Belgium. From now on, instead of having to go abroad for true-to-life training on complex industrial fires, emergency response zones and company firefighters can turn to Campus Vesta.
