In Sint-Baafs-Vijve, the renovated weir and lock complex was festively inaugurated on 20 June in the presence of Managing Director of De Vlaamse Waterweg nv Chris Danckaerts, Flemish Minister of Mobility and Public Works Lydia Peeters, Mayor of Wielsbeke Jan Stevens and EU coordinator of NS-MED Professor Dr. Péter Balázs.
Stadsbader was there to coordinate and execute, from A to Z, the building housing the remote-control systems for the nearby lock. The building will also be used as office and meeting space, and will allow the storage of large quantities of materials thanks to the presence of a large warehouse.
We were able to answer the client's request to shorten the construction period to the maximum, thanks to our in-house expertise. We converted the entire structural shell to precast concrete, where we then also took care of production ourselves.
A project that we accomplished with our construction, infrastructure and engineering departments and of which we are justly proud. We would like to thank especially De Vlaamse Waterweg and architects Arch & Teco for the smooth and pleasant cooperation, which contributed to this beautiful result!
