In mid-May 2020, our team started work on the bicycle tunnel under the busy Moorselbaan (N411) in Aalst.

On 15 October 2021, the tunnel, with a length of 195 meters and a width of 5.25 meters, was officially opened and solemnly "driven in" by Flemish Minister of Mobility and Public Works Lydia Peters and the city council of Aalst.

The tunnel is an important part of the works aimed at upgrading the Leirekens Route to a full-fledged bicycle highway. The underpass creates a safe and smooth crossing for cyclists with connections to existing bicycle routes.
