New Theunis bridge in Antwerp festively opened

Last Sunday, in the presence of Flemish Minister of Mobility Lydia Peeters, Antwerp aldermen Koen Kennis, Chris Danckaerts, alderman Claude Marinower and district mayors Tjerk Sekeris and Luc Bungeneers, the new Theunis Bridge was inaugurated.

Major infrastructure work for the elevation was completed, and before people "gave back" the new bridge to traffic, it was festively opened with local residents.

In the afternoon of Monday 12 July, the bridge reopened to traffic and the first cars were able to cross the new Third Theunis Bridge. Finishings in various places will be carried out in several phases until the end of the year.
