Opening of water sports complex in Nieuwpoort
Water sports complex with a focus on education.
Under bright sunshine, Flemish Sports Minister Ben Weyts opened a brand-new water sports complex in Nieuwpoort last Sunday. Water sports enthusiasts of all levels can train there from now on in the best conditions available on the coast.
The multifunctional complex consists on the one hand of a shed for the storage and repair of boats, surfboards and other water sports equipment. On the other hand, there is also a water sports centre where the focus is placed on training. Consequently, there are training classrooms, an open learning centre and a dining hall with fully equipped kitchen. The centre also comprises changing rooms and showers, a sewing workshop, offices, a reception area, special drying rooms for life jackets and first aid rooms.
Both buildings are modern, stylish and practical in design and blend in nicely with their surroundings thanks to their undulating roofs.
