Every year, the Flemish Government's Infopunt Publieke Ruimte presents an award to the best public space in Flanders and Brussels. It is a recognition of good commissioning, quality design and skilled execution of the project. Out of 49 entries, five projects were nominated for a chance to win the annual award.
On 9 June, the panel’s verdict was announced. This time the award went to the redevelopment of the Antwerp Scheldt quays, a project in which Stadsbader was responsible for the realization of all paving, sewerage and environmental construction.
The quays used to be a parking lot where people from outside Antwerp left their cars. Today, people from the city go there for rest and relaxation. It is a new landmark for residents and visitors.
The Public Space Prize is an extra feather in the cap for our colleagues and partners who worked together to achieve this handsome end result.
