Over the course of two weekends, Stadsbader organized a grand and successful Sinterklaas party for the young and not so young at two locations!
On Saturday 23 November, the Black Peters were lowered by crane at Maelstede banquet hall in Kuurne. While the impatient children had thought they would also see St. Nicholas descend from the skies, the wise old man took everyone by surprise and walked into the cheering crowd from an unexpected direction. What followed was a cozy afternoon full of goodies and fun.
In addition to meeting St. Nicholas in person, the children were delighted with other entertainment, including a musical performance and various attractions for all ages. The more than 600 guests enjoyed cake, pancakes, ice cream, toasted sandwiches and candy handed out by the Black Peters. Only happy little faces were to be found at the finale, because the dear Saint had brought gifts tailored to each child! The Saint himself had clearly enjoyed the festivities at Stadsbader, because on Sunday, 1 December, he visited once again at La Source banquet hall in Oevel for the colleagues of Region East.
So much joy, it will stay with us for a long time to come!
