Stadsbader is committed to the Flemish Sustainable Development Strategy by giving substance to the following transition priorities:

1.    Circular economy

Commit to maximizing the reuse and recycling of materials within projects and on own sites. Follow up on developments relating to opportunities for reuse and recycling within the legislative framework. Commit to research and development on quality and sustainable recycling materials. Mapping and optimizing the water cycle when developing own project sites and new projects.

Living, learning and working in 2050

Commit to training and advancement opportunities within the company. Detect and develop sustainable and innovative ideas throughout the organization. Follow up on new developments within the sector and participate in sectoral consultations.

Industry 4.0

Making business activities more sustainable, especially as regards construction activities and logistics. In addition to circular implementation, research and deploy new technologies and sustainable implementation methods. Extend company-level efforts to the worksites and, by extension, the entire value chain.

Living together in 2050

Focus on a liveable and sustainable environment when designing projects, both as regards social and environmental aspects. For its own activities and worksites, commit to measures relating to reducing nuisance and improving communication. Commit to the health of its own employees.

Mobility

Commit to multimodality and efficient transport planning for both passenger and freight transport when carrying out business activities. Engaging specialized mobility agencies at project level. Participate in multimodal infrastructure projects aimed at improving traffic flow and road safety.

Energy and climate

Making the Trias Energetica key to design, implementation and own operations. Reduce energy consumption, source necessary energy from local, renewable and green energy sources. Commit to the overall reduction of emissions throughout the company.

Environment for the future

Commit to climate-adaptive own sites, limit paved area to what is strictly necessary. In design projects, focus on optimizations aimed at creating quality green-blue space and biodiversity (eco-connections and native species).

Vizier 2030

By focusing on these transition priorities, Stadsbader will contribute to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, which have been translated by Flanders into "Vizier 2030," as well as "Vizier 2050," which defined the long-term goals for Flanders.

VOKA Charter of Sustainable Entrepreneurship

The SDGs are also effectively embedded in Stadsbader's business operations through its participation in the Voka Charter of Sustainable Entrepreneurship. Stadsbader set 10 goals for 2024, linked to different themes of the UN's 17 SDGs. The objectives were developed into an action plan linked to the 5 Ps: People, Planet, Prosperity, Partnership and Peace.
