Last Sunday, construction sites all over the country opened their gates on the occasion of Open Construction Site Day. We also opened our site at the Trompetaansluiting A19-R8 in Kortrijk/Wevelgem to the general public.
The day started with a breakfast at which the local authorities were represented in large number and where the provincial governor of West Flanders - Carl Decaluwé; the administrator general of the Flemish Agency for Roads and Traffic - Kathy Vandenmeersschaut; the mayor of Kortrijk - Ruth Vandenberghe and the mayor of Wevelgem - Jan Seynhaeve, among others, took the floor.
On this occasion, Stadsbader was also one of the first companies in Belgium to receive the Level 5 CO2 Awareness Certificate. It was also a first for COPRO to be allowed to award this highest level certificate on the CO2 Performance Ladder as a Belgian certification body.
At 9:45 a.m. a whole line of visitors was already eager to visit the site, and from then on we could count on a steady stream of interested people. The Flyseat to view the construction yard from 50 meters up, the tumbling car and the mini excavators that could be driven by guests were met with great enthusiasm and were consequently continuously occupied.
Despite the miserable weather, it was a very successful edition, because as many as 4,500 people came to visit the site!
